For Immediate Release July 18, 2000
Los Angeles, California - Wrightwood Records today announced the release of the new music CD, PIERCING THE CELLULOID VEIL. Subtitled as "An Orchestral Odyssey" the disc features some of the world's finest musicians, including The Sinfonia of London, Hollywood's top session musicians, Hollywood's top session singers and Finland's Trio Puhallus. Award-winning composer Mark Wolfram conducts these groups in a diverse program of his original compositions which feature richly textured orchestrations of music that's both dramatic and cinematic. Daily Variety's Jon Burlingame referred to PIERCING THE CELLULOID VEIL as "...a powerful emotional experience...a soundtrack without a film - using the mind's eye as a projector."This is Mark Wolfram's first solo release and chronicles his own personal odyssey from being a child prodigy to composing and orchestrating for the Broadway stage, Madison Avenue, records, television, film and the concert stage. As a producer and arranger for records he's garnered four (4) gold records for his work with Windham Hill recording star Jim Brickman. Mark's own "orchestral odyssey" led to the creation of this album. Having spent much of his career realizing the musical ideas of other composers as an orchestrator and arranger, he says, "part of this project was to fine-tune and hone my own voice."
